The Perch

Designed in collaboration with Dustin Feider of O2 Treehouse, The Perch is a suspended retreat that blends seamlessly into the redwood canopy of Occidental. Elevated among the trees, the structure was shaped by a shared commitment to both engineering precision and an organic design approach. Balancing structural ingenuity with a lightweight, immersive experience, we worked closely to refine every detail—from anchoring methods to material selection—ensuring both durability and a deep connection to the surrounding forest. The result is a floating refuge that feels both modern and elemental, offering a unique perspective on the landscape while honoring the trees that support it.
